No project is too big, no detail too small

With a firm completion deadline, Fire and Instrument Services was one of only a few companies capable to undertaking such a large, time sensitive project. The project consisted of an integrated fire detection and voice evacuation system with gas suppression systems in critical electrical and data rooms. Some 160 000m of fire cabling was installed along with 7 fire panels and over 100 amplifier panels. The challenging aspect of this project was the cable distances between protected areas and manual call points, as some detection loops were at their design limits and noise interference on the voice evacuation system was a concern. These issues were overcome by ensuring daily integration meetings with Fire and Instrument Services’ design engineers and contract managers, client consultants and electrical contractors on site to resolve any issues as and when they occurred and to ensure the design limits were not exceeded.
